Don’t you love these vibrant colours? You will be stunned if you see the original picture. I will show the before and after in this post and I’ll share the preset.
First of all it’s important to understand why this photo is underexposed. This shot is made with some cheap extension tubes (you can find them on E-bay) and my 50mm Nikon e-series. It is a cheap and fun way of shooting macro but the downside is the available light. For those who want to know my settings: f/2.8 at 1/20
As you can see the SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) is pretty dark and it has a purple haze. To bring out the vivid and vibrant pink I had to process it with an editing program. In this case I selected Lightroom 3.4 but any other program will do just fine. To save me some work I’ve used a preset in Adobe Lightroom which I’ve created especially for purple, magenta and pink flowers. It gives the photo a bright and warm toning and it really makes the pink springs out of the picture. It’s a great colour booster for your pictures.
